History

Founded in 1964, Fute is one of the main European manufacturers of ironing boards and step ladders for domestic use, producing under AFER brand, or costumer's brand.

Each market has specific needs in terms of design and function, so the company prides itself on the overall quality of products and services. It believes that this can only be achieved by using innovative technology and through constant investment in R&D. Our quality management system, implemented in 2002, has enabled Fute to obtain ISO 9001 certification, which guarantees the quality standard of each product, from design to production.

In 2005, ISO 14001 environmental certification was obtained.

In addition to the standard Afer range, Fute can also produce, upon request, products tailor made to each client.

For Afer, developing an ironing board means much more than just adopting a style. The design must not only be attractive, but must also meet the demands and expectations of each consumer. Combining form and function means that new concepts can be created, which has been a priority of the make, right from the start. Another of our fundamental principles is respect for the environment and conservation.

People and their preferences represent much of the basis of Afer’s work. Design is a very personal choice and that is why understanding how ironing boards reflect consumers’ lifestyles is of crucial importance. Consumers are all very different, with diverse personal tastes and points of view as to what an ironing board should be. For some, it is clearly a work tool, while others see it is also a decorative object. This is why Afer aims to focus attention on more than one aesthetic aspect of their products or specific market niche. Our designers strive to keep up to date with the different needs and lifestyles from around the world.

With all this in mind, Afer uses all its know-how to create the forms, features and concepts of ironing boards that people might desire and wish to use.
